Smile Internet Banking
As you would expect for such an exceptionally well designed site, Smile internet banking is a doddle (and remember, it's very secure too). The demo is also beautifully concise. Log on and you get to an easily understood balances screen, showing all your Smile products on one page. And at the top is a "net worth"- the total of everything you have with Smile. There's a bit of an emphasis on buying new products- but that's to be expected, and as an existing customer you do often get special rates (and a shorter application form).
Setting up bill payments and standing orders is a cinch, and of course you can transfer money to individuals, set up regular transfers etc. Much of this is of course available with other banks, but Smile internet banking is designed to be easy and trouble-free. You can also order foreign currency and travellers' cheques, repeat statements etc.
There are some cute extras too- an application tracker lets you see how any of your service applications are getting on; there are guides and walkthroughs everywhere, and everything is written in a friendly, down-to-earth style that all banks ought to copy. For example, with one click you can check that your PC is set up correctly for Smile internet banking. It's Rolls Royce service without the expense and friendly too.
