Royal Bank of Scotland Internet Banking
The Royal Bank of Scotland internet banking service was pretty much the first to appear on (or is that off) the high street, so they have some track record- that's backed up by a good security promise.
Online services from Royal Bank of Scotland internet banking (which they called "Digital banking" include the usual balances and statements; but usefully you can view and print statements up to 6 months back. That's particularly good, since repeat statements from RBS cost a fortune. The balance facility includes credit cards too.
As well as setting up standing orders and money transfers, you can pay regular bills and view payment schedules, direct debits etc. at a glance- very helpful for managing those painful utilities bills.
Nice touches include naming accounts and bill transfers in a way that suits you (e.g. "Our joint account" or "Holiday money", and a transaction search so you can actually hunt down a specific transaction. The service is also compatible with MS Money and Quicken software tools. Other things you can do online include activating cards and most product applications.
Incidentally, help is available by phone or online 8am to midnight, which is pretty fair.
